Our week in the press January 18
We had some excellent mentions in the press during the past week. Here’s a rundown:
- Kennebec Journal/Morning Sentinel Editorial: “Change Hurts, But It’s the Best Option for Maine”. The Central Maine newspapers urge lawmakers to buck up, get over their egos, and get down to the difficult but necessary business of streamlining and modernizing government.
- Mark Clayton, Christian Science Monitor: “New Test for Developers in Maine: Climate Change. The Christian Science Monitor covers our partnership with Environment Northeast to inject considerations of long-term greenhouse gas emissions caused by decentralized development in the Plum Creek proposal for the Moosehead Lake region.
This story also picked up links from the Smart Growth America blog and from postcarboncities.net.
- This is a couple of weeks old, but I’ve just gotten around to scanning a copy from the print edition: in their end-of-the-year issue, MaineBiz declared the Brookings Report (which had been released 2 months before 2007 began) as one of the biggest stories of 2007. Check out the clip here.
